Drone registration consultation
To enable us to build a drone registration service that meets drone user requirements we are running a consultation on how people currently use drones. To help us with this please fill out our survey at https://sparck.typeform.com/to/mlsBqT
We’re also running workshops in London over the next few weeks where we will be looking to gain a deeper understanding of what is needed for the service. If you are available to come along please sign up on at https://doodle.com/poll/t3mdwp8vy95p3wau
If you can’t make these sessions, but are interested in helping us build this service, please email: [email protected]

DJI battery update
After reviewing evidence from DJI, we are in a place to remove some of the current restrictions if an operator can successfully apply the DJI workaround (and verify this). We do ask that all operators still proceed with caution and immediately return to home or hover if the device doesn’t behave as expected. We continue to monitor this issue daily, working with DJI and reviewing operator feedback. We welcome any thing further from operators on this matter.

Update: DJI Battery TB50 and TB55 In-Flight Power Failures
19 November update – Following the publication of the workaround from DJI to address the issue with TB50 and TB55 batteries, we are working with DJI on non-technical issues to make sure people can fly safely following the change. We will update operators on the status as soon as possible. The current Safety Notice remains in place and is available at  SN-2018/010 Small Unmanned Aircraft – DJI Battery TB50 and TB55 In-Flight Power Failures

Small Unmanned Aircraft – DJI Battery TB50 and TB55 In-Flight Power Failures
Following the publication of the workaround from DJI to address the issue with TB50 and TB55 batteries, we have started our own internal review process at the CAA. We are encouraged by the content from DJI and plan on updating operators early next week on how we will proceed regarding the Safety Notice SN-2018-010.
