Helicopter special events end of season review

Following requests from industry the British Helicopter Association, with support from the Civil Aviation Authority, will be hosting a meeting to review helicopter operations at major events during 2018.
The intention is to facilitate an open exchange of views between all parties with the aim of ensuring that safe operations remain a fundamental objective at all future events.
All helicopter and heliport operators, pilots and operations personnel (whether undertaking CAT, SPO, NCC or NCO) are welcome to attend and interested parties are asked to register by sending their details to [email protected]

8.33kHz Conversion – Offshore Operations
All VHF radio frequency assignments used for offshore operations will convert to 8.33kHz from 3 January 2019. This means the way all channels are displayed and spoken will change.
Depcom will also change and become 122.955.
CAP1580 provides further detail on the change. Associated AIP changes will be updated in AIRAC 01/2019 and AIP Supplement 062/2018 will publish the changes in advance.
Licence holders should contact the CAA ([email protected]) to advise of the radio equipage details for their installation, as new ANO Approvals need to be issued.
