Educated The Skinners' School, Tunbridge Wells

 

1962-67 BOAC Electrical Technician Apprentice, qualifying with ONC in Electrical Engineering and Boeing 707 'X'  9.6 Maintenance Licence.

 

1967-69 Leading Hand Maintenance Electrician on B707s. Full Technological Certificate.

 

1969-73 Avionic Instructor - Air Corporations Engineering Apprentices School. Qualified Further Education Teachers Certificate, Initial and Advanced.

 

1973-2000  Flight Engineer on Boeing 707, then Lockheed L1011, finally Boeing 747 Classic variants. Retired 2000.

 

1985- present Represented initially the Society of Licensed Aircraft Engineers and Technologists and post 1987 merger, The Royal Aeronautical Society on the UK Flight Safety Committee representing RAeS' Flight Operations Group. 

 

Sometime author and seminar speaker on Flight Safety issues.

 

Vice-Chairman of Professional Standards Board within RAeS and chair of the Non-Corporate Grading committee.
