UK CAA Safety Regulation Group Charges Consultation update
As
a direct result of the publication by the European Aviation Safety Agency
(EASA) of its Comment Response Document to the Notice of Proposed Amendment
2007-08 on Part-M requirements, the CAA has launched an extraordinary charges
consultation. EASA has proposed that the Competent Authority, at the request
of an aircraft owner, shall carry out an Airworthiness Review itself in respect
of non-commercial EASA aircraft of 2,730 kg Maximum Take-Off Mass and below
and all EASA non-commercial Balloons irrespective of weight. The current
Airworthiness Scheme of Charges (Official Record Series 5 No. 229) does not
cater for cost recovery of the associated costs concerning CAA staff carrying
out an Airworthiness Review. This consultation proposes to amend the Airworthiness
Scheme in this regard.
The consultation is open for a period of 12 weeks
from Friday 9 May until Monday 4 August 2008.
The latest proposals can be
found on www.caa.co.uk/charges.
